Prescribed Burn & Wildland Training in Morro Bay State Park
|
From March 30-April 2 the California State Parks and Mountain Recreation Conservation Authority burned numerous piles wood and dead trees killed by bark beatle. The piles burned were in the San Simion State Park and Morro Bay State Park. The Mountain Recreations Conervation Authority (MCRA) from Santa Monica National Mountains State Park took advantage of these burns to use for training. They took up two engines, a brush patrol and three crews. One of the crews were part of a explorer program MCRA created involving high school kids from all over Los Angeles County. The following photographs were taken from the first two days of burning on March 30th at San Simion State Park and March 31st at Morro Bay State Park. |
